HOUNÖ donates combi oven to hungry Haitians

HOUNÖ has decided to donate a combi oven to the American charity organisation Mercy Chefs. This is non-profit group of chefs who are committed to serving professionally prepared meals in disasters and national emergencies. The organisation has opened a mobile kitchen at the Fondation Mission de l'Espoir in Haiti and will use the HOUNÖ oven to feed approximately 12,000 Haitians a day.

In connection with the donation, Morten Ammentorp Nielsen, Managing Director at HOUNÖ says:

The earthquake in Haiti has affected us all deeply. As oven manufacturer it is easy to see how we can make a difference for the survivors. We have decided to donate an oven which is connected to liquid gas and therefore it can be used everywhere. This way, we can contribute in helping Haitians getting back on their feet".

Frank Barrett-Mills from Mercy Chefs, who is on his way to Haiti, explains why a HOUNÖ oven makes a difference:

"As a chef, I can prepare almost any kind of food in a combi oven. Instead of many different kinds of kitchen equipment, I can manage with just a combi oven. The high productivity of the oven ensures that we can feed approx. 12,000 Haitians a day. It may seem like a drop in the ocean, but I know we make a difference".
